computer broke zine

My laptop broke so I made an activity zine all about it.  You play the role of someone trying to help me recover after my computer broke, designing a new background for me, helping me remember my search history, and putting lots of stickers all 'round my laptop. Just print horizontally on the short end and stitch it together!

For more detailed folding instructions:

The zine is intended to be folded like a booklet, but look like a laptop. Because of the nature of the zine, it does not matter which order you put the pages in as long as the front page is the 'lid' of the laptop. You will need to have something to stitch/staple the zine together. I have attached two photos which should demonstrate what the front should look like and what the inside should look like.

- Download the computer broke zine.pdf file, and open it up.

- Click print

- Print the zine with the settings: double sided, flip on the short end

- Fold all the pages in half, 'hamburger style', with the crease where the 'hinge' of the laptop is.

- The front cover will be the plain laptop cover, and the back has the 'Job Number' fake sticker on it.

- When folding the inner pages, fold it so that the midspread always has the blue screen on the left.

- When done, it should resemble a laptop.

- Optional: Round off the edges to make it look more computer-y

- Stitch together, and you've done it!

I have attached a couple of images demonstrating what the zine looks like in real life. In the image demonstrating the midspread you will see:

- The grey thread showing where and which direction to fold the zine

- The left-hand side having the blue screen

- The right-hand side having the keyboard

A further explanation of the folding, if needed:

When an individual page is folded, it will have the keyboard on the outside. When opened up it will reveal the screen on the left and the keyboard on the right. When flipped onto the back it will have the screen again. This is the correct order.

This zine also includes some images of the computer template, which you are free to use for your own zine project - free or paid. For the zine itself, you can absolutely share it around and print off free copies for your friends, but please do not resell. Thank you!
